Untitled Pastel Over Monotype I

This artwork is a combination of printing technique and pastel drawing.  The artist first completes the process of a unique print on a printing press and then alters the original composition with gestural drawing in pastel.  Together, these processes capture the fleeting movement of the artist's hand.  The application is similar to gestural painting with the expansive gestures that convey emotion.
