Cedar Island Rookery Edition 11/20

The artist uses each image as a visual reminder that chronicles a particular time and place.  She photographs details and uses them to create a drawing that she transfers to a linoleum block.  Weather, time and season are elements she describes.  This heron rookery on the Willamette River is south of Portland.  While carving the linoleum block she became caught up in the abstract quality of the branches which, to her describe human emotion and nature's vulnerability.
