The lack of sizing and the absorbent fibers of the mulberry rice paper allow the ink and paint to be embedded in a way that is often unexpected. This creates watermarks and bleeds, giving the work an aged appearance. I added the initial layer of color to the black vitrograph using watercolor monotype.
