An Outpost of Progress

The perspective portrayed in this painting suggests a strong sense of place, even though objects placed within are stylized beyond realism.  One has a vivid sense of the placement within the sky, water and beach.  The warmth of the day can almost be experienced by the viewer. Robert Hanson is a long-time painter in the Portland area.
